Well the Yak & Yeki painting, it just reminded me of so many flat light days in Spenard where you get these kind of gray, overcast days and the snow is like really super slow, drifting down. And it just felt like Spenard Road to me, with all of its telephone poles. It's kind of like, you know, somebody could look at this and not really see anything at all. And, you know, you drive down the road, it's just a patchwork of T1-11 and oddball signs. And if you didn't live here, you just would pass it by as if it was nothing. And not to say I made it beautiful. But I think it is a beautiful image. And it just resonated with people in a way.

Now, the downtown Hofbrau, this is an image that was before the earthquake, and it moved into the Penney's shopping mall, which is not kind of there anymore across the street from Penney's. And I remember eating there quite a bit as a teenager, and they had kind of a cafeteria line and you could, you know, get this and that. But what a great sign. This great neon sign, looks like a chef above. You know, just wonderful food, it says, welcome to downtown Hofbrau, just wonderful food.
