This took me three months to make. And the story, I think I wrote November 19 on it, and I lived sort of South Edition, so I walked downtown. And I was standing in front of the post office mall looking across the street, because I do like to go to that place and draw right there. I like to see with my two eyes. Photographs are great for reference, but, you know, I think initially you need to be there in person.

And so I wanted to everything just right, so I painted buildings and everything. But when it came to all the people, I took Bristol board and drew the people to what I thought was scale, and I would place them in various parts of the painting, and I would glue them down with acrylic medium once I figured out where they should go. And the same with the cars. I drew everything out on Bristol board and then I adhered it to the panel just so I could make sure that it was drawn right or drawn properly.

So it took me like three months to kind of finish this piece, but I was so proud of it because there was just so much like reality to it. But it was like I kept calling it a really good cartoon. And that's kind of like it’s somewhere between painting and illustration.
