Fireside Lounge had a bunch of firearms. I don't know if they were decommissioned or not, but they all hung behind the bar. And, you know, it's one of those things like in bars, generally the firearms are not something that you want to have a bunch of in a place that serves alcohol. Like in the 50s, it was a very solid bar. They had their own currency that they had these coins, these drink coins and stuff.

And I'd taken this picture of the alleyway, and I was just fascinated. There's a larger photograph that includes Chilkoot’s and there's like a meadow, and there's this old sort of garage door, and this old kind of plywood, and this very light graffiti saying Wally’s World. And, you know, this alley shot it just kind of reminds me of just Spenard in its rawest form.

Now the surrounding images, you know, like the Golden West Duo, a lot of the musicians had kind of costumes or getups, you know, hats, and they would dress similar. And then Billie Holiday, too. But I do think that musicians played a big part in life up here and, you know, nightclubs, lounges were kind of a big part of the culture, and you know we kind of just forget about some of that.
