How do I book a birthday party?
Contact email@example.com or call 929-9276. Please have the date or days that you are inquiring about. Parties must be booked at least one week in advance. A $100 deposit is required at the time of booking.
When are birthday parties offered?
Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., or 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Sundays from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. or 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.
NOTE: If these times don’t work for you, feel free to contact us and we can try to accommodate your needs.
What do birthday parties cost?
Up to 15 guests: $275
Up to 30 guests: $425
Anchorage Museum members receive 10 percent off.
Members of the Alaska Public Media Kids Club also receive 10 percent off.
What is included?
- All-day access to the museum
- Private party room for 90 minutes
- Guided activity for the children
- Party favors/bags
What activities do you offer?
We want to customize the activity based on the interests of the party (examples: art, animals, space, science). We can work with you to find the activity that is just right.
What are my food options?
You are welcome to bring your own birthday cake or cupcakes, beverages, and snacks. Catering for your party can be arranged through Muse at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 876-7830.
What can I do if I want to invite additional guests?
There are two options for additional guests:
- Upgrade to higher package (5) days prior to the event.
- Additional adults and children will need to pay full price.
Where do we park? Where do we go then?
Parking is available in the Anchorage Museum's parking garage (enter on 7th ave.) on Saturdays and Sundays. Rates are:
0-2 hours $5
2-4 hours $8
4-6 hours $12
6-10 hours $15
Street parking is free on weekends as well. If you park in the garage, you will have to leave the building and re-enter at our C street entrance.
What can we bring?
You will be responsible for transporting all party items and decorations to and from the party venue. Please make arrangements in advance to secure your gifts and personal items during and following the party. All items from the party must be removed from the classroom after the party is complete.
What items are NOT permitted at The Anchorage Museum?
Helium-filled balloons, confetti, silly string, glitter, sparklers, pets, games involving throwing or striking objects (i.e. piñatas) are prohibited in the Anchorage Museum. Items that cause extra maintenance or room decorating require approval prior to the event.
Who supervises the children?
You will be required to provide adult supervision for all children (12 and younger) at all times while at the Anchorage Museum. Parents attending birthday parties are expected to supervise their children during the party and while in all museum exhibitions.
What if I have to cancel?
Cancellations more than 2 weeks (14 days) before the scheduled party can be refunded on the deposit.
Cancellations less than two weeks (14 days) of the scheduled party cannot have their deposit refunded.
