Curator Tour: Painting at the End of the Ice Age

Join assistant curator Rachel Boesenberg for a tour of Painting at the End of the Ice Age, featuring landscape paintings by Cordova-based artist David Rosenthal. Learn about Rosenthal’s 45-year painting career as he observed and recorded retreating glacial ice and dramatic post-glacial landscapes in field sketches and watercolors, resulting in the 67 paintings on view in Painting at the End of the Ice Age. In addition to glaciers and ice fields in Alaska, the exhibition also features scenes from the artist’s time on scientific research trips in Antarctica, Greenland and the Northwest Passage. Included with admission. Meet in the exhibition.
