The early 20th-century deployments of US military aviation to Alaska were exercises in endurance flying, diplomacy, training and public relations for the US Army Air Corps. A US Naval Aviation expedition to the Aleutian Islands in the 1930s was an operation to map and conduct strategic reconnaissance in an area of interest in the Post Washington Naval Treaty world of the mid to late 1930s. Learn more about both expeditions during this docent-led gallery talk. No registration required.
