Put on a costume and head to the Anchorage Museum for Halloween afternoon. Trick-or-treat in the galleries, join a story time or catch a special planetarium show. Costumes encouraged.
Trick-or-treat in the Galleries
3 to 6 p.m.
Make your way between selected galleries for make-and-take stations, activities and collectibles. Costumes encouraged.
Treat Station
3 to 6 p.m.
Costumed visitors can visit the Halloween station at the Atrium kiosk for a complimentary cookie and cup of punch.
Storytelling in Alaska Exhibition
3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
Gather around the “fire” in the Alaska exhibition on the second floor to hear local storytellers recount tales. Two 30-minute story sessions. Good for listeners 6 years and older.
Blink: Spooky Storytime in the Dome
3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Planetarium
Story and shadow puppets for museum learners ages 5 and younger.
Spooky Science Demonstrations
4 to 5 p.m. Discovery Center
Explore the strange and spooky with hands on science.
Ooky Spooky Music Show
4:30 p.m. Planetarium
$4 Members, $6 general admission.
Experience Halloween music in a new way as it surrounds and captivates you. The Ooky Spooky Light Show is a delight for the entire family. Classic and favorite Halloween tunes such as 'The Monster Mash', 'Ghostbusters', 'Thriller', and more come to life with amazing funny and spooky visuals. $6 plus museum admission. Please note: This show is a non-astronomy show containing loud music, flashing lights, spinning stars, and other effects that some may find disruptive. This show is not recommended for those who may have conditions that could be aggravated by this experience.
