Northern Sami rapper SlinCraze (Nils Utsi), from the reindeer herding village of Máze (pronounced Mah-zee), Norway, is joined by Phillip Blanchett of Pamyua for a discussion about using northern indigenous languages in urban pop music forms. Following the discussion, Nils will demonstrate improvised “freestyle” rapping in the Northern Sami language, which is only spoken by 20,000 people.
