Anchorage’s annual celebration of DIY publishing, comics, and creativity is back! Whether you’re a seasoned zine maker or brand new, this is your chance to create, collaborate, and connect. The Zine Thing Fling Ding is our 2nd annual gathering, and we’re thrilled to keep building a space for collaborative creation in Anchorage. Free to participate. 

Friday, October 3: Come one, come all for a collaborative space to draft, doodle, and experiment with zines, comics, and more. Facilitated by goth (@g0thlawyer) and the Anchorage Zine Team, with supplies, prompts, and plenty of inspiration. Featuring local band Chubby Bird at 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, October 4: Work on your own projects or get support from Zine Team members during open studio time. Then, check out scheduled workshops:

• 10-12 p.m. Lee Post: Local comic artist leads a full zine-making workshop with creative activities to spark new ideas.
• 12-1 p.m. Mikhail Siskoff: Dive into the wild world of collage and create your own cut-and-paste art.
• 1-2:30 p.m. Jimmy Riordan: Explore bookbinding and discover how the feel of paper, spines, and bindings shape the reading experience.
• 3-4:30 p.m. Karolina Zakravska: Play with watercolor, color theory, and composition to bring whimsy and resonance to your pages.
