Join us for a presentation and Q&A with Anchorage Museum virtual artist-in-residence Michaela Goade. Goade will answer questions about her art-making practice and do a live illustration demonstration. Audience questions and interaction are encouraged. About the Artist
Michaela Sheit.een Goade is of the Kiks.ádi Clan (Raven/Frog) from Sheet’ká (Sitka). A Caldecott medalist and #1 New York Times Bestselling illustrator of “We Are Water Protectors,” her other books include “I Sang You Down from the Stars,” “Encounter” and “Shanyaak’utlaax: Salmon Boy.” Over the last few years, Goade’s work has focused on Indigenous KidLit. She is honored to work with Indigenous authors and tribal organizations in the creation of beautiful and much-needed books.
