Welcome back to the museum for First Friday! Bring the whole family to enjoy free admission to the galleries, create in the Art Lab, or view rapid space shorts in the planetarium. Also on display are new exhibitions Lines of Sight: Comic Art and Storytelling in Alaska on the first floor, and Salmon Culture on the second floor. More First Friday events listed below:
Art Lab – First Friday Free Create in the Art Lab
6 - 8 p.m.
Feeling inspired by the Anchorage Museum? Let your imagination soar while you paint, draw, and create in the Art Lab. Join us during First Friday hours to freely create and gather with the community in a fun and judgement-free zone. Open to all ages; all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Thomas Planetarium - Rapid Space Shorts
6:30 p.m, 7 p.m, 7:30 p.m, 8 p.m, 8:30 p.m.
These quick planetarium experiences range from constellation tours of the night sky and cruising around the solar system to learning about light and the aurora borealis. Free; ticket required and available at the front desk after 6 p.m.
Muse Restaurant – Museum Lobby
MUSE by Crush Bistro will be open from 6 - 9 p.m. offering a $15 small bites buffet, as well as beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
