Spenard Jazz Fest at the Anchorage Museum

Spenard JazzFest continues its First Friday collaboration with the Anchorage Museum, nurturing creativity across art forms while celebrating Alaska's identity and values. Starting on the lawn and moving into the Museum Atrium and Pass the Mic exhibition, Spenard JazzFest captures a broad culture of music, dance, and film from within the Museum on First Friday. This evening features performances by Aurora Nova, Pepper Kit, Witty Youngman, Kodi Hannah, Jacqtet, Anaya Latin Dance, and Endless Field.
 
Performance Schedule:
•    Front Lawn: 4:30pm - 6:30 p.m.
•    Atrium: 7-9 p.m.
•    Pass The Mic exhibition: 7-9 p.m.
 
Spenard JazzFest is a multidisciplinary arts festival that celebrates music across all genres, with one emphasis on jazz, and another on Alaska. SJF strives to nourish and root into the local community of music lovers and makers, as well as its supporters and audience through local performances. 

Thomas Planetarium - Rapid Space Shorts
6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m., Thomas Planetarium
These quick planetarium experiences range from constellation tours of the night sky and cruising around the solar system to learning about light and the aurora borealis. Free; ticket required and available at the front desk after 6 p.m.

Art Lab – Free Create First Friday: Pride Edition
6:00 to 8:30 p.m., Discovery Center, Art Lab
Show off your pride and allyship at the Anchorage Museum. Join us during First Friday hours to freely create and gather with the lgbtqia2s+ community in a fun and judgement-free zone. Open to all ages, all children must be accompanied by an adult.
