Planetarium Show: "Rapid Space Shorts: Sizing Up Space"
6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6
Distances in space are difficult to grasp. How big is the distance between the Earth and the sun - or between the sun and the other planets? Discover the light-year, the very large "ruler" that scientists use to measure the size of space. Be amazed by the ever-increasing distances to the nearest stars, the edge of the Milky Way and to the farthest galaxies in the universe.
Rapid Space Shorts are short planetarium experiences that range from constellation tours of the night sky to cruising around the solar system to learning about light and the aurora borealis and many other astronomy topics.
Free; ticket required and available at the front desk after 6 p.m.
