Learn to look at your backyard with a florist’s eye. In this hands-on workshop, we will use whatever is blooming in your yard at the time to build bouquets for you to take home. Master florist Paul Marmora will guide you through the entire process, from what to look for in your garden to how to build a lush, balanced floral design.
Please bring a vessel to arrange the bouquet in, and any flowers and greenery from your yard that you want to use in the class. Flower suggestions might be ligularia (dry or fresh), lysimachia (yellow loosestrife), geraniums, late iris, veronicas, turtle head, lilies or astrantia. Greens could be potentilla, verbascum, ninebark, cotoneaster, viburnum, maple, spruce, pine, hosta leaves or whatever is blooming or colorful. To keep the plants perkier for their arrangement and help them last longer, keep them in buckets with fresh-cut stems before you bring them in.
