Join us this winter for a one-day Alaska Winter Survival Camp. Through hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) activities and gallery experiences, campers will learn how people and animals have navigated Alaska’s most extreme conditions. Take a tour of the Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center and investigate how Indigenous people have been using natural products to survive the winter since time immemorial. Explore how camouflage can help animals survive. Discover how animals deal with hunger in the winter and how they can travel long distances through the snow. Drop off as early as 9:30 a.m.; pick up as late as 3:30 p.m.
$75; 10% discount for museum members.
Registration closes Sunday, Dec. 28.
