Members are invited to an exclusive art class focusing on intertidal marine life in the form of small dishes, ornaments, or tchotchkes.
Ella Stenga, of Stella Marina Pottery, is an Alaskan artist from Soldotna, primarily working in clay to create functional pieces of art. Stenga’s work is predominantly influenced by patterns found in nature and everyday life.
Just in time for the museum’s Arctic Marine Science exhibition, this class will focus on the fundamentals of pottery hand-building, natural textures, sea stars, and barnacles, with random ocean or clay facts sprinkled throughout. For ages 12+.
