Lunch on the Lawn: Alaska Highway Signpost Forest Activity

Join the curatorial team behind an upcoming exhibition about the Alaska Highway (ALCAN) for a hands-on activity inspired by the Watson Lake Signpost Forest. First created in 1942 by a homesick soldier working on highway construction, the Signpost Forest has grown into a collection of thousands of signs from travelers around the world.

Share stories from your own Alaska Highway journey, then create a sign that reflects the distance you traveled to reach Alaska. Take your sign home or leave it with the curatorial team to become part of the Anchorage Museum’s recreation of the Signpost Forest in the exhibition.

Free. No registration required.
