In Context: Tyonek Grown - Food Security and Tyonek Grown Farm

Food security – having access to enough nutritious food – affects all Alaskans. Food prices and availability can be a challenge, especially for families in remote villages like Tyonek. One way to solve this problem is to increase local agriculture and gardening.

Come learn how the Tyonek Grown Farm uses high tunnels and garden beds to produce a high yield of fruits and vegetables for the families of Tyonek. Then, learn how to grow your own strawberries with hearty Alaskan strawberry plants gifted from the Tyonek Grown Farm.

Dena'ina language will be included in the family-friendly event with support from the Tebughna Foundation and the Tyonek Tribal Conservation District. Included with admission.
