Enjoy free museum admission, create in Art Lab, or enjoy rapid space shorts in the Thomas Planetarium. View our newest exhibition, All Aboard: The Alaska Railroad Centennial, which examines three key eras of railroad history spanning the 20th and 21st centuries. Immerse yourself in the Pass the Mic experience on the third floor. Or, take a moment to pause and listen to LaMont Hamilton: To Hear the Earth Before the End of the World on the fourth floor.    

Art Lab – First Friday Free Create in the Art Lab
6 - 8 p.m. 
Feeling inspired by the Anchorage Museum? Let your imagination soar while you paint, draw, and create in the Art Lab. Join us during First Friday to freely create and gather with the community in a fun, judgment-free zone. Open to all ages; all children must be accompanied by an adult. 

Thomas Planetarium - Rapid Space Shorts
6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., 8:30 p.m.
These quick planetarium experiences range from constellation tours of the night sky and cruising around the solar system to learning about light and the aurora borealis. Free; ticket required and available at the front desk after 6 p.m.

First Friday: Opera in the Atrium
6:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, July 7, Atrium
The Anchorage Opera presents a fun potpourri of Opera & Operetta’s greatest hits, and a preview of their 2023-24 Season. Performed by local stars Laurie Soderstrom, Luke Honeck, Patricia Rose, Jeremy Sivitz, Kyle Gantz and Lisa Willis, with Janet Carr-Campbell, accompanist, and new General Director, Ben Robinson as MC. 

Bask in music during July First Friday. The concert will be performed in the Anchorage Museum Atrium if it rains. Rain or shine, come by for this free concert.

MUSE by Crush Bistro will be open from 6-9 p.m. offering beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and appetizers for purchase.
