Grant Writing Intensive for Artists with Acacia Johnson

Grant writing can be one of the most valuable skills in an artist’s career. Grants can provide funding for new projects, creative development, studio time, exhibitions and beyond. The same persuasive writing skills it takes to write a grant can be used when applying for residencies, graduate programs, and much more.

In this two-day workshop, demystify the grant-writing process, learn how to find grant opportunities, and transform ideas into clear and compelling language that funders can understand. Each student will have the opportunity to workshop a proposal in the second session, getting constructive and encouraging feedback from their peers and instructor. Registration includes all three sessions.

Artists of all disciplines are welcome to attend. Participants should bring a small portfolio of their best work (approx. 12 images, if visual) and an idea for a project they would like to seek funding for. Previous experience is not required.

$150; Registrants required to participate in all sessions.
