6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 14

Seed Lab, 111 W. 6th Ave, Anchorage

In-Person Event

Turn old blue tarps into sturdy, water-resistant bags perfect for all of your summer activities. Led by educator and expert sewer Marianne Kerr (and supported by Furnish Studio + Salvage) you’ll transform torn or worn tarps into lined tote bags ready for farmers markets and outdoor activities. Collaborate in pairs and learn together. Bring a used tarp if you have one; materials provided. Free. Registration recommended.

Seeding Repair workshops are building a culture of repair and sustainability, working to transform our culture into one that repairs more readily than it purchases. Workshops on mending, repairing outdoor gear, upcycling and object fixing, along with the sharing of how-to skillsets, help remind all of us that low-cost repairs help the climate. Themes change monthly. Have reuse or repair skills you’d like to share? Send your workshop ideas to, or let us know you’d like to volunteer with us.
