Urban Harvest: Backyard Chickens 101

Raising your own chickens doesn’t require a lot of space, just the right information. Learn from UAF Cooperative Extension Services Livestock Nutritionist Jim Vinyard about how to get a healthy coop started.

This interactive presentation will teach the basics, plus how to differentiate feeds, and how to sprout grains. Discuss heating sources and how to keep your flock through Alaska’s winter season in this informational course. $5 materials fee, registration required. This class is a collaboration between the UAF Cooperative Extension Service and Seed Lab.
