Places of the Mind Framed by the World: A Virtual Artist Talk with Kaija Kiuru
This event has ended. It was scheduled for 9/30/2020.
Noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30Online
Join Finnish artist Kaija Kiuru and staff from the Rovaniemi Art Museum/Korundi House of Culture for a discussion of the artist’s recent retrospective, Places of the Mind Framed by the World. Kiuru works in sculpture, installation and photography, exploring the fragility of nature and the delicate relationship between the natural world and mankind. Potential shelters, such as tents, backpacks and groves of trees, emerge in her work as ephemeral, temporal and precarious — highlighting a sense of vulnerability while at the same time celebrating the beauty of transitory forms. Registration required. Free.
