Join the Anchorage Museum and Margaret Adsit, owner/operator of Alaska Farm Tours, for a special look at three farms during the peak of the harvest season: VanderWeele Farms, Moonstone Farms and Arctic Organics. Tour begins at 9 a.m. at the Anchorage Museum. Hop on a private bus to the Mat-Su Valley for an engaging and informative tour that shows how one of the most geographically remote places on Earth has created a distinct, thriving food system. See Alaska’s largest vegetable farm, explore growing and harvesting techniques, and learn about Alaska’s historical farms. Catered lunch included. Tour returns to the museum around 3 p.m. Presented in conjunction with the museum’s What Why How We Eat exhibition, on view through Jan. 12, 2020.
