Conversation and Book Signing: The Artist as Culture Producer

4/12/2018

6:30 p.m., Thursday April 12

The “Artist as Culture Producer” is a compilation of interviews with 40 artists who detail how they live and sustain a creative life. Join a discussion about the book and the future of artists in the greater cultural mix with artist, artist-advocate and the book’s editor Sharon Louden, plus two contributors to the book: Hrag Vartanian, editor-in-chief and co-founder of Hyperallergic, and Deana Haggag, President and CEO of the Unisted States Artist Foundation, and Matthew Deleget, artist, curator and arts worker. A book signing follows.

This event is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts Arts Works Grant that is hosted by the International Gallery of Contemporary Art, as well as support from the Ford Foundation, Alaska State Council on the Arts, the Rasmuson Foundation and the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation. Free, use museum’s 7th Avenue entrance.
