Kerry Tasker: Cloud Chamber, 2025

On view nightly from sunset to 10 p.m.
Dec. 5, 2025, through Jan. 14, 2026
Anchorage Museum Facade

Kerry Tasker’s Cloud Chamber installation series immerses viewers in a dynamic, living glacial landscape shaped by light, time, and sound.

Tasker pairs long-exposure images and large-scale projections across the museum’s facade with an original soundscape by Ivan Night, composed from field recordings of melting glacial ice. Together, they reveal the shifting and vulnerable nature of Alaska’s glacial bodies.

Tasker used lights attached to drones to trace and suspend illumination across the night landscape. The effect, amplified by soundscapes played through speakers on the museum’s common, is an experience that is both record and ritual; an inquiry into how we witness and remember disappearing places.

An earlier iteration of Cloud Chamber was projected onto the Anchorage Museum’s glass and mirror façade in December 2019 as part of a series of public art projects that bring the natural world into urban spaces.
