Growing up in Alaska offers undeniably distinctive experiences of nature and the outdoors. Whether trick-or-treating in full snow gear, catching larger-than-life fish, playing baseball in snowshoes, or picnicking atop rugged mountains, the weather and landscape are often main characters in the stories and memories of kids who grew up here.

Spanning photographs from the 1930s to the present day, this exhibition traces nearly a century of childhood across Alaska. Drawn from archives and family albums, these images offer glimpses into everyday moments shaped by place.

Together, these photographs reflect the enduring magic of growing up surrounded by wild places.
