Real. Arctic. is a global pop-up installation by Norwegian artists Jérémie McGowan and Amund Sjølie Sveen. This multifaceted art and archival project examines how the Arctic is imagined, marketed, and lived today through an exhibition, site-specific installations, performance, an evolving archive, and an exploration of how ideas of the Arctic circulate through tourism, commerce, and popular culture. Completing the project is Real. Arctic. ______., a line of design objects that critically mirrors the souvenir industry and extends the art installation into the Anchorage Museum Store.
