The Anchorage Museum invites journalists, bloggers and independent creators to help share the stories of the North, innovation, culture and community. Media credentials ensure access to the museum’s exhibitions, programs and events for individuals producing editorial content for public audiences.

How to Apply:
Email your request and the following information to MPR@anchoragemuseum.org.

  • Your name and outlet/platform
  • Date of visit and coverage intent
  • Any interview, photography or special access requests


Who Qualifies for Consideration:

  • Print, digital, TV and radio outlets
  • Freelance writers or photographers on assignment
  • Bloggers with established audiences
  • Podcasters and video journalists
  • Social media creators producing cultural or educational content
  • Student journalists (with faculty sponsorship)

Applicants May Be Asked to Provide:

  • Recent sample work or coverage
  • Media outlet name and audience reach
  • A short description of the intended story or content
  • Planned publication or air date

***Applications should be submitted at least 3–5 business days in advance

Access Includes:

  • Complimentary general admission for one media representative
  • Access to designated exhibitions and public programs
  • Permission to photograph/film public areas (some restrictions apply)
  • Any relevant media kits and press releases

Access Does Not Include:

  • Back-of-house or restricted areas without pre-arrangement
  • Commercial use of footage or photography
  • Additional guest tickets (exceptions may be made for crew or assistants)
  • Permission to ask participate during any Q&A period meant for paid/ticketed program participants
