BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS AT THE ANCHORAGE MUSEUM

Give your child a birthday celebration to remember for years to come. From exploring Space and science to engineering, animal encounters and art experiences, there is a party theme to match your child’s interest.

PARTY THEMES

Planetarium Experience
Ages 6+

Celebrate your birthday in space with our exclusive planetarium birthday experience. Explore part of our solar system in the Thomas Planetarium. Includes room reservation for 90 minutes, plus set up (30 min) and clean up (15 min) time added on. Party favor bags also included. Planetarium capacity is 38.

Animal Encounter
Ages 3+

Get up close to one of the museum’s living animals in this educator-led experience with one of our resident reptiles. Includes party room of 90 minutes, plus additional time for set-up (30 minutes) and clean-up (15 minutes), party favor bags. Specific animal requests accepted, but not guaranteed.

Engineer It
Ages 3+

Tackle challenges engineers usually solve. Work as a team to complete a variety of tasks. Includes party room of 90 minutes, plus additional time for set-up (30 minutes) and clean-up (15 minutes), and party favor bags.

Science Lab

Become a scientist, conduct a science experiment and take home the results. Includes party room of 90 minutes, plus additional time for set-up (30 minutes) and clean-up (15 minutes), and party favor bags.

Art Experience
Ages 3+

Channel your inner artist to create an artwork inspired by the museum’s collection. Includes party room of 90 minutes, plus additional time for set-up (30 minutes) and clean-up (15 minutes), and party favor bags.

Blink Birthday
Ages 1-3

Even the youngest learners can celebrate their birthday at the Anchorage Museum. From fishing to making art, toddlers use their imagination to create, play and have fun. Includes party room of 90 minutes, plus additional time for set-up (30 minutes) and clean-up (15 minutes), and party favor bags.

Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 1 to 2:30 p.m., or 3 to 4:30 p.m.

BOOK THE DATE

Email birthdays@anchoragemuseum.org or call 907-929-9261 to reserve your party. Please indicate dates or days you are inquiring about. Parties must be booked one week in advance. $100 deposit required.

CANCELLATION

Cancellations more than two (2) weeks (14 days) before the scheduled party can receive a deposit refund. No refunds for cancellations less than two (2) weeks (14 day) before the scheduled party.

FOOD OPTIONS

You may bring your own birthday cake, cupcakes, beverages and snacks.

WHAT TO BRING

Decorations and party items - you are responsible for transporting them to and from the party venue. Please make arrangements in advance to secure your gifts and personal items during and following the party. All party items must be removed from the venue after the party is complete.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

The Anchorage Museum does not allow: helium-filled balloons, confetti, silly string, glitter, sparklers, pets, or games involving throwing or striking (no piñatas). Items that cause extra maintenance or room decorating require approval prior to the event.

CHILD SUPERVISION

You are required to provide adult supervision for all children ages 12 and younger at all times while at the Anchorage Museum. Parents attending birthday parties are expected to supervise their children during the party and while in all exhibitions, including the Discovery Center.

PARKING/MUSEUM ENTRY

Street parking on the weekends are free and there are several lots nearby. Or you may elect to park in the museum’s parking garage, which is open to the public on the weekend. Entrance is on 7th Avenue between A and C streets. Rates are:

$8 2-4 hours
$12 4-6 hours
$15 6-10 hours

Note, if you park in the garage, you will need to exit the building and re-enter through our main C Street entrance.
