How We Are Preparing to Reopen sept. 2
We are committed to providing an environment that supports keeping our visitors and staff healthy and safe.
The Discovery Center will be open by appointment. Muse Atrium Cafe will be open with coffee, tea, beverages and snacks. Muse Restaurant will remain closed until later phases, giving us time to prepare with recommended safety protocols so we can confidently support the safety and well being of everyone in that space.
The museum is about 275,000 square feet on four levels, which allows for social distancing. Attendants will help remind people about physical distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer will be available, as well.
Here’s what we do to help keep everyone healthy throughout the museum
We have limited visitor capacity.
We have altered our hours of operation and be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
We encourage visitors to purchase tickets online; however drop-ins are welcome. We have timed-entry, pre-purchase tickets/reservations for guided experiences in the Discovery Center with online ticketing only, through anchoragemuseum.org.
We clean and sanitize high-touch, high-traffic areas, with deep cleaning when the building is closed.
Staff and visitors are required to wear fabric face coverings.
We encourage frequent hand washing and will provide hand-sanitizing stations throughout the museum.
Visits outside the Discovery Center spaces are self-guided and visitors will follow physical distancing practices in all spaces.
We will continue to offer Anchorage Museum from Home, including online exhibitions, virtual programming, and virtual First Fridays on our Facebook page.
We encourage everyone to be aware of COVID-19 symptoms and ask anyone feeling unwell to stay home.
Thank you for supporting the museum through the COVID-19 closure and beyond. We look forward to welcoming you back to the museum.
We rely on support from our community and you.
Please consider making a donation to support the museum during this difficult time.
