Virtual Vital & Creative: (Re)telling Our Stories for Ages 55+
This event has ended. It was scheduled for 3/9/2021.
10:30 a.m. to noon, March 9 & 23 and April 6 & 20Online via Zoom
Explore the expressive power of writing in this seven-week virtual course for adults ages 55 and older delivered via Zoom. Participants are led through writing exercises which invite reflection on personal and community stories important to them. Engaging across genres, this class guides students in a process of retelling stories with their own voices. Each session builds on previous sessions, allowing for participants to develop a collection of related work, or a single project. These sessions, co-taught by writer and community leader Itzel Yager and museum staff, are designed for all levels and abilities; no previous writing experience needed.
Participants join online Zoom sessions with a personal internet-connected device March 9 & 23 and April 6 & 20. An online platform and U.S. mail exchange will provide resources and activities for non-class weeks. Free, thanks to generous support from Aroha Philanthropies.
Registration required; includes all four sessions with materials, which will be available for pick-up at the museum the week of March 1. Email email@example.com with questions.
