Family Art Class: Maps

Inspired by the Franklin Expedition’s quest to navigate the unknown waters of the Northwest Passage, participants chart known and imagined territory in a multi-media mapmaking session. Study examples of Inuit cartography and learn techniques to create hand-drawn maps using personal histories and adventures; students are welcome to bring in their favorite maps as inspiration. Great for beginners and intermediate artists. Materials provided. Best for ages 6 and older with adult companions required for participants ages 12 and younger. $10 per registrant plus museum admission, museum members receive a 10% discount. Registration required.
