1 Million Cups, Artists & Entrepreneurs: Bruce Farnsworth & John Hirst
9 a.m. Wednesday, April 11
The art group Track & Field unveils its multilayered Pan-Arctic project 8Boxes. Track & Field's idea focuses on expanding the current surge of connectivity in the Circumpolar North. 8Boxes acknowledges the significance of the Arctic Councils' efforts to connect Arctic nations at the intergovernmental level and the growing web of institutional connections being spun by museums, universities, business associations and others. This project seeks to foster interpersonal, street-level, one-on-one connections among residents of the eight Arctic nations. Come learn about the vision, timeline and opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships open to individuals and businesses.
1 Million Cups at the Anchorage Museum is a monthly session about arts and entrepreneurship based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions as they network over coffee. This free national program is supported, in part, by the Kauffman Foundation and is designed to educate, engage and connect entrepreneurs with their communities. Free; use the 7th Avenue entrance.
