International Astronomy Day Activities
1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 21
Gather for International Astronomy Day to celebrate astronomy and the universe through hands-on experiences, auditorium movies and lectures. The Anchorage Museum partners with NASA Solar System Ambassadors, UAA's Planetarium & Visualization Theater, and local astronomers to share knowledge and hands-on astronomy activities. Observe the sun with a solar telescope, imagine life on an exoplanet, and experience spacecraft missions in a new way with augmented reality. At 4 p.m. meet Jenn Zahrt PhD, an author, publisher and teacher of cultural astronomy and astrology, as she discusses her research.
