Fashion Workshop with Project Runway’s Kenya Freeman
1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10Reynolds Room
Atlanta-based fashion designer Kenya Freeman, lead designer for the women’s brand Sylvia Mollie and 2017 participant on Lifetime’s Project Runway, discusses how to gain the know-how and confidence to pursue fashion design, work with a variety of fabrics, and take creative risks. Hear about what makes fashion an art and what “read- to-wear” means. Learn first-hand what it’s like to establish a fashion-design website, compete on Project Runway, and create a career in fashion. Create patterns and sketch from inspiration. Journey through the museum to think about how art, history and architecture can be integrated into what we wear. Teens interested in fashion and design are encouraged to attend. $15, 10 percent discount for members. Registration required.
