1 Million Cups, Artists & Entrepreneurs: Laura Oden
9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10auditorium
Laura Oden screens a short film called "Five/Thirty: Urban Conflux" that was created in collaboration with the Alaska Teen Media Institute. The film documents a one-day gathering on May 30, 2015, (that's the "Five/Thirty" part) orchestrated through simultaneous events held throughout the city as a social experiment to learn if people would change what they had planned for the day if they were interrupted by musicians and offered a chance to divert to Town Square Park where a surprise was waiting for them. The events included orchestra musicians performing on city buses. A discussion of possible collaborations follows.
1 Million Cups at the Anchorage Museum is a monthly session about arts and entrepreneurship based on the notion that entrepreneurs discover solutions as they network over coffee. This free national program is supported in part by the Kauffman Foundation and is designed to educate, engage and connect entrepreneurs with their communities. Free; use the 7th Avenue entrance.
