DANCE PERFORMANCE WITH KATIE O’LOUGHLIN: UNTOLD STORIES ARE STILL ALIVE WITH SPOKEN TEXT PERFORMANCE BY CAROLINE STREFF
6:30 and 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6
Performance artist Katie O’Loughlin and poet Caroline Streff share perspectives from a recent research trip to Havana, Cuba, in a multi-focused performance. O’Loughlin, a recent graduate of the University of Alaska Anchorage Theatre and Dance Department, and Streff a current UAA English major, visited Cuba to study the country’s arts community and how politics, culture, economics and environment has impacted its arts culture. Their trip was a result of a UAA Honors College, Anchorage Museum and Ludwig Foundation of Cuba collaborative project titled “Resilient Communities in Motion: Imaginative Territory.” Free.
