Words and Sounds for Our Northern Place

Use this classroom lesson plan with 9th -12th grade students to explore photographs from the Anchorage Museum Collection through interactive activities that will engage students to consider their connection to the land and the importance of place. Students will learn about the how land shapes the experiences of the Northern landscape by Indigenous peoples, colonizers, and newcomers.
