Design Weekend celebrates the power of place and community in Alaska and the North through a series of programs that celebrate, educate, inspire and prompt discussion about how design engenders a sense of place through visual and conceptual identity. The museum, along with community partners, is hosting collaborative opportunities where allied design professionals come together to enliven the city and blur boundaries between disciplines, ideas, and talents to encourage a new vision of what Alaska is through distinct local materials, voices, images, and ideas. Partner organizations include Anchorage Museum, Davis Constructors and Engineers Inc., McCool Carlson Green, RIM Design, RIM Architects, RIM First People, RSA Engineering Inc., R&M Consultants, Arctic Wire.
