37th Annual Alaska Watercolor Society Juried Exhibition to open at Anchorage Museum
On view Oct. 7 through Nov. 27 at the Anchorage Museum
The 37th Annual Alaska Watercolor Society Juried Exhibition showcases the best work by Alaska’s watercolor painters. This exhibition delivers a wide variety of styles and subjects, from representational to abstract and from traditional still lifes to contemporary portraits. The exhibition opens with a First Friday reception 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7.
Exhibition juror Judy Morris of Medford, Ore., has received more than 50 national and regional awards for her watercolor paintings. She taught high school art for 30 years before becoming a full-time watercolorist.
The Alaska Watercolor Society was formed in 1974 as a nonprofit organization to promote professional watercolor painting in Alaska. For more information, call Jean Watson at the Alaska Watercolor Society at (907) 333-4678 or visit www.akws.org.
