Alaska Bead Society Show
10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 13
noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 14 The Alaska Bead Society's 11th annual fall bead event happens at the Anchorage Museum from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 13, and noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 14. This annual event presents a wonderful opportunity to see and buy a wide variety of beadwork and beaded items. Located in the museum Atrium and Gallery I, the show features more than 50 artists who will sell their work and discuss their creative process. The featured artist this year is Terri Atwell, who has been beading for more than 10 years and whose complex and colorful sculptural pieces are inspired by nature. This event includes beading demonstrations, a make-it-and-take-it table where participants can make a beaded item to take home and an Alaska Bead Society membership table. For more information, call Georgia Blue at (907) 343-6195. Event is free.
