World War II Battle of Attu examined in documentary

Museum screens "Red, White, Black and Blue" Nov. 11 at 2 p.m.In recognition of Veteran's Day, the Anchorage Museum will screen filmmaker Tom Putnam's documentary "Red, White, Black and Blue". In the film, several veterans reflect on the Battle of Attu in the Aleutians during the waning days of World War II. "Red, White, Black and Blue" was chosen as the official U.S. selection for the Locarno, Italy, International Film Festival. The Boston Globe calls the documentary "a wrenching look at a forgotten battle." After the film, enjoy a discussion with the director. Refreshments will be available in the atrium.
