Opening reception Oct. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Rarefied Light showcases the best of Alaska's fine art photography. This annual juried exhibition is sponsored by the Alaska Photographic Center and draws hundreds of submissions from around the Alaska. This year's juror is Dan Burkholder, one of the first photographic artists to embrace digital technology in the early 1990s. He is best known for originating the digital-negative process in 1992, and his book, Making Digital Negatives for Contact Printing, is regarded as the most authoritative work in the field. After its stay at the museum, Rarefied Light will travel to various galleries and museums in Alaska until May 2007. For more information, call 343-6122.
