GO BEHIND THE SCENES AT THE ANCHORAGE MUSEUM ON INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY

Celebrate International Museum Day with a peek behind the scenes at the Museum on May 18 when the museum is offering behind-the-scenes tours of the collection beginning at the front desk at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. For the past 27 years, museums throughout the world have recognized their unique service to the public through the celebration of International Museum Day each May. Organized through the International Council of Museums, this day calls attention to the specialized nature of the work done by museums using their collections for the continuing education of the public. The Anchorage Museum is pleased to serve nearly 200,000 visitors and 18,000 school children each year. Visit on May 18 and rediscover all the museum has to offer. Admission is $6.50 for adults, $6 for seniors and free for museum members and children age 17 and under. For more information, call 343-4326.
