One Percent for Art Program Call for Entries

The One Percent for Art Program is seeking artists' submissions for interior and exterior art installations at Wendler Middle School and Polaris K-12 School and a stained glass window at East High School. The works will be commissioned in conjunction with renovations and additions at each school.
The deadline for slides for the Wendler Middle School project is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11. Submissions for the Polaris K-12 project are due by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28. Artists are welcome to tour the school Jan. 9 at 6 p.m. Polaris K-12 is located at 1444 E. Dowling Rd. Prospectuses for both projects can be downloaded at www.anchoragemuseum.org. Artists wishing to be considered for the East High School project should submit at least 10 but no more than 20 slides, a resume and a letter of interest with subject line "East High School" by 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, to: Jocelyn Young, Anchorage Museum of History and Art, 121 W. Seventh, Anchorage, AK 99501.
Works of art included in the One Percent for Art program are chosen by art selection juries appointed by the mayor. Each jury has seven members, including the project architect, a user of the building, representatives of the Urban Design Commission, the Arts Advisory Commission and two citizens of the community.
