The Anchorage Museum’s permanent collection of more than 500,000 photographs, housed in the Atwood Alaska Resource Center, brings to life Alaska’s history. This image by Steve McCutcheon, titled “Blanket Toss-Rondy 52” was taken at the 1952 Fur Rendezvous festival in Anchorage. The blanket toss is a traditional Alaska Native game, and it’s now a competitive event at the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics.
