Take inspiration from the fossils of the Cruisin’ the Fossil Coastline exhibition, and learn how to make “fossilized” bones in this family art class. Make molds and create resin bones and shells for “fossils” to take home. Suitable for ages 5 years and older, with adult companions required for participants under age 12. $10, members receive 10 percent discount.

Dinosaurs, fossils, and…cheeseburgers. This family-friendly art workshop is inspired by the dinosaurs, fossils and Ray Troll’s vivid artwork from the exhibition Cruisin’ the Fossil Coastline. Materials provided. Best for ages 6 and older.

$10 per registrant, museum members receive a 10 percent discount. Pre-registration required.

Tour the Cruisin’ the Fossil Coastline exhibition for inspiration, then make “fossilized” bones in this extended, family art class. Create molds and resin bones, shells and “fossils” to take home. Suitable for artists 5 years and older, with adult companions for participants under age 12 required. $15, members receive a 10 percent discount.

Curators Ray Troll and Kirk Johnson will sign Troll-illustrated Alaska-Yukon map posters and their new Cruisin’ the Fossil Coastline book. Get the new book and poster at the Anchorage Museum Store beforehand, or the day of at the Museum Store pop-up. Free event, books and posters extra.
