BODY DONORS AND THEIR ENDURING LEGACYS
The bodies in this exhibition are displayed in the context of science and health, within an atmosphere of respect.
These anatomical specimens are from body donors, individuals who during their lifetime bequeathed that upon their death, their bodies could be used in this exhibition. The identities, ages and causes of death of the individual body donors are not provided because the exhibition focuses on the nature of our physical being, not on providing personal information.
The body donors chose to participate in this program for a variety of reasons. As part of the bequest, all stated in writing their intention to contribute to the medical enlightenment of laypeople. That is the spirit in which exhibition is presented.
What makes the exhibition so compelling is the fact that it displays real bodies in everyday poses, resulting in a powerful educational experience.
We appreciate the generosity of the body donors – people who bequeathed their bodies to this exhibition for educational purposes.
