The 47th annual Anchorage School District (ASD) art exhibition showcases some of the district’s student artwork. The exhibition gives kindergarten through high school students the opportunity to experience their artwork in a museum. This year’s theme is “Diversity,” which is described as “A state of being diverse. Variety. The quality or state of having different forms or types. From species to ecosystems, there is power in diversity. From food to culture, there are experiences in diversity." Teachers select the pieces, which include drawings, paintings, multimedia works, jewelry and sculpture. In addition to the Anchorage Museum, student artwork is on view at several other locations across Anchorage and Eagle River. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with National Youth Art Month, a recognition of visual arts programs in American schools.
